We are currently looking for:
COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT
The Communications Assistant reports to the Communications Director and will assist in building public awareness of and interest in the museum and its services through various efforts and collaterals. The Communications Assistant will be involved in department meetings where overview of tasks, including responsibility, time line and strategy will be discussed.
Qualifications:
- Male/Female - between 21 to 27 years old
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field
- Knowledgeable in media relations and management, desktop publishing, graphic design, web design and photojournalism
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of personal computers and software including: MS Office, Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.
- Familiarity with web and graphic design software, such as Corel Draw; Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Go Live; and HTML language also desirable.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Creative
- Highly organized
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Availability during the weekends
MUSEUM GUIDES
The Museum Guides support museum operations by conducting tours and attending to the care and comfort of visitors. They monitor the museum's exhibits and facilities to ensure safety and security. The museum guides, as frontliners of the museum, establish and maintain an environment that promotes creative and critical thinking among the museum's young visitors.
Qualifications:
- Male/Female - between 21 to 25 years old
- College graduate
- Has experienced working with children and their caregivers; familiarity with child development
- Able to work within a fast-paced, high traffic public environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Availability during the weekends
